I'm using a mid 2009 Macbook Pro with all the small ports and the floppy drive. I bought it to "project" my workouts from my laptop onto my old (not smart) TV that I have in my bedroom. With the ongoing pandemic I have yoga teachers and instructors that I follow at live workouts on Instagram and it's really hard to see on my phone so I open IG on my laptop and am able to connect to the live stream. Here's the problem, you MUST actually plug the cable into your laptop or nothing will connect, ok, well done. But there are no sound projects. I searched the comments for it and people didn't have this problem, in fact I searched my laptop and they gave 5 starter reviews saying it works great. I couldn't get it to output sound, I went into my system preferences to see if I need to tweak the output and nothing. So if all I can do is listen on my laptop, why bother projecting onto a TV at all? The cable itself is really good quality and seems to be quite durable. The length is great as I have a long dresser that my laptop will be sitting on when I'm projecting on the TV so I don't need anything extra to begin with.
