I have a small vintage wardrobe that I wanted to use to replace the unsightly shelves behind my living room door. The section I wanted to put the shoes in is about 16X16X48. This organizer fits snugly in the right side of the closet, leaving approximately 4 inches of space in the front and sides, plus room at the top for a dog sweater and leash. . It can hold 8 to 10 pairs of shoes - my tennis shoes fit in one slot and my bulky clogs fit in each individual slot so it all depends on what type of shoes you want to put in there. It was easy to assemble and strong because everything fits perfectly. The frame is metal and everything else is tarpaulin, fairly dense and of high quality. I would definitely order this again.
