These Seed Starter Trays with Hydrometer and Thermometer are great for seedlings which are in need of a higher dome. This lid sits about 1 inch higher than typical 12 cell trays. The cell tray itself is on the flimsy side, but the drip tray is sturdy enough and once seedling starting mix is added to the cells and put inside the drip tray it is quite a sturdy combo. The bottom of the cells touch the drip tray and doesn't leave much room for the water to drip. I LOVE the thermometer and hydrometer device, which operates on battery and has an on/off button and measures C or F. The only problem I have with it that it doesn't lock in the lid well, and every time I take the lid off it falls out. I think the hydrometer works pretty close to a regular one, but the temperature is off for me when I use the tray under the grow light which gets warm itself. What I am saying is that the thermometer doesn't show the soil temperature but just the environment on the surface. But overall I like these trays and use them quite happily, especially loving the hight of the dome.
