Review on MicroNEW Shifter Derailleur Shimano 2X8 Speed by John Taylor

I bought these to build a budget carbon bike and am very impressed with their performance! I had no problem setting them up for Claris RD and Ultegra FD and rim brakes. Shifting and braking are smooth and precise, combined with quality cables. I prefer independent lever adjustment over the popular inline brake/shift lever so I'm looking for the 11 speed version of that if anyone knows of one? One thing I didn't really like about these shifters is that the shifter cables do not run through the grip body, but rather come out the side of the unit as shown in the photo. However, the brake cables are hidden. For me this is by no means crucial as I chose the "Lime in Coconut" color theme around the control panel and I don't mind showing a little more tether ;-) .
