Very clear picture even in a dark room! The first photo is in our living room at night with the lights off. My husband and I are very pleased with the clarity of the image. The second photo with the crib is also at night with the lights off. You will find that the image is very blurry/grey. That's because I turned the camera down to look inside the crib. The camera's white base seems to distort the image when panning all the way down in a dark room, no issues with clarity when looking down in a bright room. We just have to move the camera to a different angle to get a better view of the crib. Another great feature of the monitor is the range. We have a 3 story townhouse with a finished basement. I still have all 4 stripes on the monitor when the camera is in the children's room on the 3rd floor and I'm in the basement. Can't comment on durability as we recently received this baby monitor but so far we love it!
