Substandard quality even for a product made in China

The only good thing to say about this product was that is arrived 2 days earlier than expected. The quality control inspector must have been on tea break when this unit went through final inspection. The list of issues included (1) dings, scratches and separation of wood in the single coating of stain finish of the soft wood frame, (2) the braces strips were not the same size, (3) six captive nut holes were not drilled to match the frame support braces, (4), because there were no hole there there no captive nut installed and (5) both primary frame legs had to be redrilled because they did not align with the maim ramp frame holes. To resolve these issues, I had to search my area for 6mm nuts to use as captive nut in place of the missing nuts. Then I had to buy new drill bits to accept the metric size nuts as standard size bits in my sets were either to big or small. I then had to glue the new captive nuts into the tight new captive nut holes, wait a couple of hours for the glue to set and then complete assembly. Our cat used the ramp within minutes of setting the assembled unit next to the bed. Our dog with 2 repaired torn ACL knees is now in training on how to use the ramp.In all, we spend about $130 for the unit and then another $30 on new drill bits, captive nuts and gas to find metric nuts. Over all, I estimate I invested about 5 hours into the assembly/repair process to make this a useable product. Recommend find a ramp made in the USA!Almost forgot to mention the provided assembly instructions are a pictorial with no written guides. Thats OK if you have a powerful magnifying lens to read them and can interpret exactly where the lines are pointing. At least all the hardware/screws and washers were included with no shortages no withstanding the need to buy captive nuts for the holes not drilled. Finally, after assembly and placement of the competed ramp, our cat had no issues using the ramp on her own initiative. The dog, however, was hesitant at first and then when she did get brave enough, she fell off the ramp and now won't go near the ramp. In order to make the ramp safe, I'm going to has to install a railing to prevent another accidental fall off as an older dog as she can easily be seriously injured by a misstep off the ramp.

Pros
  • Easy Top Platform: Featuring a low slope that leads up to a flat surface, this dog and cat ramp is made for a super easy walk-up that provides a place to stop before making the move to another surface. Offer your pet an easier time getting up to where you are or where they're going.
Cons
  • The carpet may be scratchy for some dogs
