Despite the reviews about the brightness and despite the high price, I bought one of these lights to see if it could be flashed with Tasmota firmware. The earlier version of this lamp was compatible (based on ESP8266), but this lamp is not compatible because it is controlled by BEKIN BK7231 chip. First of all, I'm writing this review to let other Tasmota users know. Many of us don't want our lighting and home automation to depend on the internet and China-controlled servers. I prefer local control and will not buy products that don't offer it or can't be modified to do so. I'm very impressed with companies like Sonoff that make it easy for customers to use their products however they want and don't force them to use another app (despite offering one) with unknown current or future security risks. If the Zigbee version of this lamp is made and reviews are more positive for the brightness I might consider another purchase. As for this lightbulb, I will give it to a friend who doesn't care who runs his house and find another solution for my needs.
