I fell off my mountain bike just before going to Whistler. I wear bulletproof vests in Whistler. and it's no fun putting pads on sticky sores so I decided to try them out since bandages sticking to big open wounds didn't sound like a fun trip to Canada. So. The one on my shoulder lasted the whole trip and the wound healed beautifully. The ones on my lap stayed for days. I expected them to be difficult to cover and I didn't want them seeping into my knee pads. These bandages held up much better on my knees than I expected, but I changed them every day as all the movement throughout the day weakened them. Also, it was difficult to seal them completely because I didn't shave my knee and the contours of my knees aren't exactly flat. Other wounds on different parts of the body had results that fell between the two examples above depending on the site, the amount of hair I had in that area, and whether it was near a joint. They're not super cheap, so I wanted to give some of them more life, but that might not be realistic. After all, I couldn't be happier. I got the results I wanted and if I had shaved a few cuts I'm sure they would have stayed better in places. They stayed until I took them off. When I took them off, the skin underneath was pink and very fragile. It was a little different and I found one of the healed wounds and opened it up a bit. I think I probably should have kept them on for a few days or put on new ones to heal more fully. So the big question is, are they worth the money? For me absolutely. I've fallen off my bike many times and woken up with bloody sheets, bandages on caked wounds and all the other joys of a bad accident, those bandages have been minimized, if not eliminated, for me. I don't crash that often so it gets expensive if you bang your bike every week lol. I think next time I will try them on my kids. Hopefully they won't scratch your cuts and scrapes as they seal up pretty well. I find it ideal if they seal completely when tightened but are tight at the seams. However, they didn't stick to my wounds and we feel so good under my pads. Good product, I've heard of that before.
