Review on LARRY LEVINE Quilting Detachable Faux Fur Women's Clothing for Coats, Jackets & Vests by Nathan Barraclough

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very warm and cute, especially for the price, but it's big.

This coat is too big for a one size. I bought an L and swim in it. L in tops and 12 in bottoms with my broad shoulders and hips. I was wearing my usual winter coat which kept me warm in 35 degrees Chicago but lately it's been 0-25 degrees and I've been freezing walking. I put on this coat and walked about a mile - I got hot. It's quite a thin coat so I was surprised. I don't know how it holds up in the wind. The label says water repellent but I'm not holding my breath. Also the product label says it's down but the label inside the jacket says it's polyester. It also says it needs to be thoroughly dried when washed, leading me to think it might actually be lint. Warmth in such a thin coat is also a sign of down filling. The hood is large but very low, as another reviewer mentioned. It doesn't have laces so I think it might flap backwards in the wind. It's heavy with fur trim, but maybe not. The hooded sherpa and soft collar kept me warm. The zipper is unreliable - it tends to get caught in the fabric around it when closing and I'm afraid it will break. The hand pockets are slanted, conveniently placed and zipped - no other pockets. The sleeves are nice and long (which never happens to me) and the ribbed cuffs stretch and keep the wind out of your sleeve, which I don't usually find. In general, a very beautiful coat with a feminine shape. But I can take the next size up.

Pros
  • Short down jacket: 29 inch
Cons
  • Update available
