Not ideal for 2016 428i
I have a 2016 428i and the front mat is not flush with the ground. The front mats are also very short in relation to the floor length. Front mats should be at least 4-5 inches longer to cover most of the carpet/floor. These mats also slip and slide and there isn't enough friction to keep them in place. They're really light too.
