I had to go through all the tiny pins because they are so small they get caught in jewelry - often not on one side - side by side - and went through a rather flat mesh strainer, which is my first time using it for rinsing shots and jewelry. The tiny pins are so attracted to the magnet that they follow it and are held on by two layers of thick plastic. I'm not sure if it's stainless steel. Tiny pins account for a significant portion of the total weight. All other parts - balls, saturn shaped bearings, corner pins and thicker corner pieces - look and feel well turned and are uninteresting to the magnet. I'm wrong about tiny pins
