This product aims to help you avoid using BPA and other plastics in your food. If that's important to you, then this product is definitely for you. If you don't mind that, there are easier-to-use products that are completely dishwasher safe. The glass piece is pristine, dishwasher safe and beautiful in every way. The bamboo lid holds up surprisingly well considering design choices are obviously necessary to avoid chemicals. The bamboo part says you can use it as a cutting board. I wouldn't do this because I don't think it will last long as a cutting board and it will be even more difficult to clean. The bamboo part has to be cleaned by hand, no problem, that's what I expected. The little rubber ring is not glued in I think to avoid the chemicals in the glue and it pops out sometimes. Small issue but worth mentioning as it can sometimes leak if you don't hold it straight. The main problem is that the bamboo part is quite difficult to 100% clean. I really have to try not to get the lid dirty in the first place so it's easy to clean. If you don't have a spray nozzle on your sink, you should avoid this product. Overall this is still a 5 star product and works as advertised. It's big, it folds well both full and empty (one glass fits in another glass) and I'm completely satisfied. It really helped us stick to the diet by having pre-cooked beans, brown rice, and oatmeal. We both lost almost 30 pounds in 3 months. It's hard to complain about that. But if you're picky or expecting to put the lid in the dishwasher or cut it, you'll likely be a little disappointed.
