I wanted something really comfortable and warm to wear on a late autumn day. This fits the bill. It's soft and cozy and looks great with leggings or jeans. As for the heat. I'm wearing it right now and it's about 40 degrees. It's a bit windy and I'm still quite comfortable and warm. I wouldn't say it would work on its own under 40, but that's not what it's designed for. I wanted it to be a little roomier so I increased the size. It's not mandatory. I usually wear XL and XXL is more than roomy enough to think XL would fit as well. You can conveniently order your normal size or go up a size for a little more room.
