The saying "You get what you pay for!” Well, in this case it's very true. I bought them in August 2013, I'm not a makeup artist but I do makeup every day so these brushes get used every day. I brought them home and as others have said they had a bad smell and the smell got worse after washing but after a few uses the smell was gone. That aside I like them in general and they really work and I would say buy them if you need brushes and are on a budget. The large head of the face brush came loose from the handle and I had to glue it back together, it doesn't hold its shape very well at all. After about two weeks of use, it looks like a fan brush. It's not very soft and it's a little scratchy on the face. But the eye brushes are great. I would definitely do without face brushes (rouge, foundation) and just use eye brushes. I also wanted to mention that I use the concealer brush as an eyeliner brush with my gel eyeliner and it works really well - the lip brushes I used in the eye brushes are off label but I like them and I think so , they are worth the $1 they ask for them. I really hope this helped in choosing this product. As a side note, if you just want to buy a few of these brushes, they sell them at Christmas Tree Stores (CTS) for $1 and you avoid shipping costs and only get what you want. My favorite is the fluffy eye blending brush - I bought another one from CTS last time.
