This is a cute, oversized sherpa quarter-zip hooded pullover. I am 5'4" tall and wear. size 14 and usually choose XL in outerwear. I wanted to make sure this would fit loosely enough to wear something warm underneath, so I chose to size up to XXL, but this wasn't necessary at all. I like the roomy fit -- I can easily layer even a heavy, bulky sweater or sweatshirt underneath this if needed. Some sherpa garments are thicker, heavier and have more structure than others and it is hard to tell from the pictures and product descriptions exactly what to expect. This one has more of a soft, unstructured, floppy fit. The shoulder seams are about two inches past my actual shoulders and the sleeves are a bit long, but they are cuffed so that is not a problem. The cuffs are loose rather than snug fitting. I really like the hood. So many hoodies have giant hoods that swallow me up but this one is reasonably sized for warmth and coverage, but doesn't flop down over my eyes. The drawstring is better than most; it has a wide, extra long, flat shoe-string style lace with plastic coated ends that feels very sturdy. The short zipper operates smoothly. The pockets are fairly large and are lined; one side with sherpa, one side with polyester satin, and there is plenty of room for my hands or for smaller items. I would say the pockets provide a light degree of warmth only. The length completely covers my rear and extends to the mid-thigh, since I am fairly short. I really appreciate the extra length when out for my daily walks which can get pretty darn chilly. The 'sherpa' is 100% polyester, as described and is lightweight and fairly thin, but fluffy inside and out. It does look a bit bulky, which I would expect from this design but since it is also light-weight is has some drape so I don't look like a grizzly bear (at least I don't think so). I ordered the coffee color which is a rich cocoa and very pretty. I would say that this is suitable over a t-shirt or other light layer for chilly, crisp fall days or when there is a cool breeze, but it is not heavy enough for cold days without a thick, warm layer underneath and is definitely not warm enough for winter conditions. The cold and/or wind would cut right through it. The top is well made with neatly finished seams and no obvious flaws. The current price of this fun to wear, light & cozy top is $27.99 which does seem a bit high to me considering the type and weight of the fabric (100% polyester).
