Shelves are great, just use other anchors.
The wall plugs went through the wall when we put the screws in so we had to pull them out again leaving big holes. Luckily we had other anchors that were big enough for the holes but still worked with the included screws. The instructions make the assembly a bit more complicated than necessary, I first attached the bracket to the shelf and then pressed it against the wall with a spirit level sitting on it, then marked the holes for the bracket. So I knew they had the right distance AND level. Edited to add: Loved them so much we bought an extra set for my craft supplies!
