It opens to a point and stops, the hinge is sturdy unlike the rounded card holders I'm used to. It does look clean and classy to pull out even with some wear. I put a thin strip of electrical tape over the metal bar and it seems to have fixed the issueHarder fix: I can hear a snap when i bend down, the hinge is strong but the point of contact between the edges is so small that they slide off one-another and it makes me feel like I am wearing the wallet out.Bonus: Round the edges off a bit more so that it's nicer to the other things in your pockets
