Review on Celestron C Series Telescope f/6.3 Reducer Corrector by Nguyen Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A valuable accessory for observation and photography DSO

I read about such correction lenses in a book about astrophotography. The purpose of a lens is to effectively decrease the f-value of your scope and increase the aperture and field of view. This lens did both for my Celestron NexStar 6SE. He zoomed in from F10 to F6.3 and increased the FOV so that objects that were previously too large for the "whole" frame were now rendered in full. The visual brightness of objects increased, and the resulting exposure time decreased. I leave this lens on the scope by default and only remove it (thereby restoring the original F-Ratio) when I intend to view and capture planets or separate nearby binary stars. I didn't notice any distortion in the images once the lens was in place. I consider this purchase to be one of my best accessory purchase decisions.
