Skiing is notoriously expensive - if you want a quality product you usually have to pay. As an insider, trainers know some trading tricks that help keep those costs down, but the general public doesn't usually know this, so it's nice to see a company offering products that have the quality of expensive brands, but at a price affordable price. Wildhorn first caught my eye when I bought their high-quality Alta Wireless Bluetooth helmet drop-in headphones at an affordable price (see my review). Then I needed a new jacket so I read the Revain customer reviews and discovered the Wilhorn 'Dover Jacket' - I jumped at the chance and I'm glad I did. Features (many pockets, hood, advanced zippers, windproof skirt, waterproof, beautiful appearance). Other companies skimp on features to keep costs down, but not the Wildhorn. Glory to them! It also looks good - I've already received a compliment from someone with expensive taste. My big question was how warm its insulation would keep me in the mountains where the rubber meets the road. After using it twice, it kept me in 25 degrees Fahrenheit as I pulled on a moisture-wicking base layer and a quarter-zip fleece sweater. When the temperature dropped to 20F I added a fleece vest and I was very comfortable. This was in the Northeast, where it's usually wetter, so you'll "feel" the cold more, suggesting it might work even better in the drier West. So I can see this jacket keeping me warm in the critical 25 to 45 degree Fahrenheit temperature range where I ski most of the time. Overall I am very happy with this jacket - quality, features, performance and price!
