Great educational tool for a child with ASD who loves music

My 2 year old grandson has severe ASD and loves music. His favorite song is The Wheels on the Bus. This puzzle quickly became his favorite toy. Because he enjoyed it so much, it allowed me to work with him on skills that no other puzzle had given me. This provided instant feedback to pick up the pieces, prompting him to put them back to enjoy the instant feedback again. We have tried our best to teach him cause and effect and how to interact with toys. He even learned to close the patch with his finger and play the song on his own, without a puzzle piece. Since then he has attracted much more attention and improvements in other aspects of his life. He does not speak and is now concentrating on learning basic sign language, making more sounds that sound like words and has improved in many areas in general. I don't know if this can be attributed to the jigsaw puzzle, he recently moved in and I've been a special education teacher for 20 years, but I do know that this jigsaw puzzle helps make learning and exploring the world easier for children with ASD when they be musically stimulated. I will definitely buy another one. Now he has lost most of the details because he carries them with him and they are lost. That doesn't make the kid happy!
