These shears are advertised as "true left handed shears" but the manufacturer packaging says they can be used with either hand. Before making this purchase, I did a little research on what differentiates scissors from being left-handed. This was the top blade position. These scissors are exactly the same as any other pair and can be used with either hand. Nothing special. I'm really disappointed in this purchase, I feel like this has been misadvertised and I fully intend to contact the manufacturer and let them know how I feel. It was a completely useless experience and I would have sent the scissors back if the packaging hadn't been destroyed.
