Definitely not what I thought. The material was not as comfortable and soft as I had hoped. When I washed it before putting it in the crib, I took it out of the dryer and saw that it was covered in flakes. And yes, I washed it on the gentle cycle and then just air dried it. Not the best quality but you get what you pay for.
