Review on πŸ”Š Optimized Klipsch RP-504C Ebony Center Channel Speaker by Kara Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Huge size! Huge weight! Massive sound presence!

This is a high quality center channel speaker. Incredibly clear dialogue and central presence make watching a movie a real pleasure. Paired with a set of reference Klipsch RF-280F Premier main speakers, this is the real deal. It's like having a real band in my living room. The bass isn't as pronounced as I expected given the massive size of these furniture-grade speakers, but the Sub really is designed for audible bass. When the material calls for subtle low frequencies as a reference speaker, the speaker reproduces what was intended without adding bass. The response is very pronounced and overpowers the main speakers, as it should be when listening to movies. With music, it's the other way around, with the main speakers clearly dominating the center channel, as intended. However, they fill the gap between the left and right channels, so the stereo sound does not come from the extreme left and right channels, but from a left-to-right panoramic presence. This effect was AMAZING! Sound EVERYWHERE simulates a real live event. VERY IMPORTANT. It's like horizontal columns! This is a HUGE speaker and very few cabinets and racks can support such massive weight and size. MEASURE YOUR PLACEMENT CAREFULLY. After a long search I finally found a tempered glass TV stand that supports a speaker of this size perfectly, so much so that I thought it was designed for this speaker. Revain sells an AVF SDC1140-A three tier stand as you can see in my photo. The piano body is high end and too good to risk damage by placing a TV or other component on top. The stand I recommend is intended to compensate for this risk.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Useless functions
