I am about 40 years old, female 1.75 m, sleep on my side and on my back. me as a hard memory foam pillow. There is a degree of adjustment (you can shape and fluff it up) more than hard pillows. The chunks aren't too big, I tried another one that had huge hard chunks you could feel. This pillow is different, it's not tattered (my favorite pillow is Bits and Pieces) but it's still comfortable. I find this pillow best for side sleeping. I slept comfortably on my back. It was sent in a plastic bag and there was no chemical smell when I opened this pillow. I don't know if the charcoal actually helps control the odor and to be honest it sounds a bit uncomfortable Seems better I'd just wash.
