I tried them after being very disappointed with Philips Ultinon LED bulbs. WOW design and light output quality are far superior to known brand name lamps. They are properly designed for older car lights. The LEDs shine on the sides of the light assembly, but are also aimed at the lens, resulting in bright light and color. For brake lights, even if the original bulbs are "white", be sure to replace them with red ones to match the red brake/brake light lenses, amber ones to match the turn signals, etc. Trust me, they will shine very brightly.
