The "Privacy" feature in this product significantly dims the screen and definitely prevents others from seeing around you. I thought I would love this feature, but it makes photo sharing and all sorts of other things a real pain. If you use your phone to read maps while driving, it's impossible to see how you're doing or what's coming up. When you take a great photo and want to share it with others, not everyone can be looking at the phone at the same time - they pretty much need everyone looking directly at it. If you really don't need/want anyone to see what you see. on your phone - for example as security protocol, during business meetings or whatever - you probably don't really want this product. Otherwise - the product is exactly what it advertises - good quality and definitely a privacy screen. You could be looking for personal belongings near someone and that person can't see what you're doing. You should be looking pretty closely at the screen. It also darkens the screen significantly - in most cases this isn't a problem, but on a few occasions I've removed the glass to get a better view of the screen. This was rarely needed, but I noticed that the screen wasn't fully exposed before I put on this screen protector. I recently replaced this item with another clear protective screen and I'm glad I did - it's not. a noticeable difference, as if my screen suddenly became much better, only i can easily see it from the side if i want, and all the things described above no longer bother me. Seriously, this item is not a bad choice in any way, it looks good and if you really like what it does then overall you will be very happy with it. If I really wanted protection from casual eyes I would buy this again.
