Installation was straightforward, however one of the barrel nut was faulty and I have to email support for a replacement. Support was very responsive and sent out the replacement nut in 3 days.Locking comes with 2 levels (need to hear 2 click sound), sometimes if the alignment is not straight, it may only lock at one level. I always use the key to further lock it so that there will be no accidental release of the lock.To all users of ski rack, please take due diligence of the usage. If a ski falls off in a high way, it could result in serious dangers to other car/drivers. So far this rack is doing great, -1 star for the initial quality control issue.
