Review on 🎧 Shure SE425-V Silver Sound Isolating Earphones: Dual High Definition MicroDrivers, Secure In-Ear Fit for Professional Audio Experience by Stacy Steckler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sound quality, poor build quality

I bought them in December 2014 after upgrading after buying the SE215-K and SE315-K. The sound quality is excellent and a noticeable improvement over the previous two. But other reviewers have spoken about it. When I removed the earbuds from my ear yesterday, the plastic broke at the base of the sleeve where it connects to the main body. This happened a few months ago on the left. I was able to send it in for repair and expect to be able to do it again under the 2 year warranty. However, this appears to be a design flaw, causing it to wear out in just over a year. UPDATE: First purchase: 12/2014; Left side sent for repair: 11/2015; Right side sent in for repair: 9/2016 For $300, I expect the earbuds themselves to last many years even if I have to replace the cords. So I wouldn't buy this again.

Pros
  • Speaker type: two high definition micro drivers
Cons
  • boring packaging
