Polished Gentleman is my favorite shampoo and conditioner brand, so I decided to put my current routine on hold and try their after-shower products. Unfortunately I feel that they are not as good as what I use regularly. The beard oil does a great job and has a very handy pump dispenser. The only thing I don't like is that it feels thicker than some brands of the same quality. The balm is more like a wax than a smooth balm. It's so hard I had to scrape it off with the back of my thumbnail like cold butter. It melts at about the same rate. Being thicker means it has a pretty decent hold, but it also pulls my hair out when I try to brush it like wax later in the day. I love the smell of shampoo/conditioner but found it overwhelming with beard balm. My wife and I both agree that it smelled like oil.
