These covers are made of high-quality fabric. They are not soft but have a nice, natural texture and feel. The zippers are strong. Dark gray color seems a bit purple. Purple is clearly visible in the photos. I agree with another reviewer that these are fur and pile magnets. I would not recommend pairing them with fur, faux fur or other pillows and comforters. Due to clinging, they require care. If you don't have a lint brush, I'd buy one right away. The pole tape wears out too quickly. I've included a photo showing what the pillow looks like after it's rested next to the faux fur pillow and another after it's been cleaned with a lint brush. Despite the service I will actually buy another set because the dark color and durability make them perfect for my family. My kids love throwing them on the floor when we play board games in the living room. (I wouldn't recommend this if you have a wool rug.) I've stuffed 26" feather pillows into 24" covers with good puffy results. My only minor downside is that I'd like it to appear more angled to create fewer sharp corners.
