It was dark in our closet and it was impossible to distinguish the colors of the clothes. I had to take things out of the closet to see if they were black or dark blue. This lamp has a motion sensor, but we chose not to use it. It took many swipes to turn it on and nearly a minute and a half to turn it off (a waste of batteries). There is also an on/off button. So we decided to install it with velcro on the side of the door opening in the closet. At the top of the door it would have worked if I wasn't too small to get there. The location we chose allows me to simply press a button to illuminate the closet, and the lighting is just enough to see the colors of the clothes. I am completely satisfied with the lighting provided by this light and would recommend it to anyone looking to illuminate a dark place.
