I must have a bad set. My latch broke at the airport and my small bag snagged on the bag flew away. So it didn't work at all. Also, I attached it to both the nylon handle and the fabric handle, so of course the fabric was torn. I think you need to have a specific style case with a long/strong handle for this to work. I would not recommend it for travel. But I use them to hold together travel gear that I keep in bags in my garage. So it wasn't a total loss.
