We thought they would be a great addition to our quilting kit but we quickly found that they which cover the bobbin case on all our machines. They have a great strong magnet so it takes some effort to maneuver the attachments once they are on the needle plate, but that is part of the problem with quilting. You must remove them to open the needle plate on the top loading bobbin plate. After replacing the spool, you need to put it back on the plate in the correct position. We use the 1/4" needle guide to attach it, but on our Brother machines we have to use the J foot and shift the needle position to the right to get the correct position. It's much easier to just use the presser foot with a 1/4 inch guide on it. Great idea, just a challenge in practice with a top loading reel.
