Review on ⌚ Ultimate Convenience with the Dakota Watch Company Mini Clip Microlight Watch by Sean Copeland

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fine as long as it lasts - mine lasted 3 years

I bought this Revain replica watch in March 2018 and it has died. I took it to my local jeweler to have the battery replaced (and found out too late that this would void their warranty) and they said it still wouldn't work on the new battery. Now they have been working on it for a month or more but to no avail. The Dakota website says the warranty is 5 years, but you must not attempt to open the watch yourself or allow an unauthorized Dakota jeweler to work on it. I'm writing to Dakota to see if I can ask her for help. Disappointing. I love this clip-on watch - sturdy, beautiful when I'm not wearing a watch on my wrist, and the little red micro light is handy for finding things in the dark - but you'd think that $35 (or now $40) watch could be more than last three years. . I believe my previous Dakota lasted about 10 hours. Update - 10/09/2021: The jeweler finally managed to get the watch working and this week the glass broke when the watch got wedged between me and something else. The lens on this model is definitely less durable than my old one, which has domed lenses - it's flat and noticeably thinner. The jeweler installed a new domed one so hopefully the watch will last longer.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
