I had 4 sections of under cabinet fluorescent lights that failed with lamps or ballasts resulting in more lamps not lit than were still working. Cabinets and built-ins are divided into 3 sections separated by gaps for the sink and stove. I've been looking for an LED solution for some time, but all I've found were devices that can be mains connected, require a box and power supply, or are prohibitively expensive. Because of the gaps, most typical solutions require wiring through the gaps. I needed a direct connect solution so I could remove the old lights and replace them with LED lights. They were affordable and pretty easy to install. There are knockouts on both ends and 3 in the back center and near each end for power entry. An input port is provided. My point of frustration was managing the wires in the bracket, but some sort of tape solved that problem. These lamps are equipped with two switches, one for switching on/off and one for selecting the color temperature. These lights can also be used with an LED dimmer installed instead of a wall switch. Something else at a low price: Honeywell also manufactures devices of the same size with a factory-set color temperature more cheaply. Both Honeywell options cost much less than other direct-wired options.
