The LEDs are very bright and seem to aerate the aquarium well. I use it in a 5 gallon betta tank and my betta seems to love it. It definitely brightens his colors! I'm happy with the size and the suction cups seem to hold it well. Actually. When moving the tank I had to detach the cup so I could move the light bar. I don't seem to have a lightweight remote but it works great in all settings. Although a timer would be a good idea.
