Very effective but needs to be compressed first
Expanded mesh is great for cushioning packed items, but mesh tends to return to its original flat shape. To prevent this, first unfold it, then bend it to the sides: this should keep it stretched. THEN it is great for packaging. (And of course cats love it, as they do with all wrapping paper.)
