These containers are NOT airtight. They are NOT sealed. I was planning on using them to deliver salads to work (pre dressed). If the container isn't perfectly level in my bag, a lot of salad dressing will spill out. When I first brought it to work it destroyed a lot of my papers and books (they are now stained with balsamic vinegar). And yes, I made sure the container was 100% perfectly sealed. This was not an isolated case. Whenever I have liquid in it and the container isn't quite level, liquid leaks out. I no longer wear them to work, only in the kitchen. Shame as I paid nearly three times as much to have a truly airtight container to transport my salads in. If I knew how poorly made they are I could just buy an inferior container for a dollar. It would serve the same purpose. Definitely don't buy them thinking they're airtight. Unfortunately you will be disappointed.
