Vacuum valve after vacuum valve bought specifically for sous vide use. I've found time and time again that water seeps into the vacuum bag because it's almost impossible to seal both ends perfectly. So I decided to upgrade at a higher price. This vacuum seam has an excellent seal, leaving a wider, clearer seal that you can inspect for wrinkles or imperfections. Searching for vacuum seals ended up with bloated air which I have not seen with sous vide before. So I contacted POTANE support and they were very kind to review a number of options. They seemed genuinely concerned that their product might not work properly. But when I found that the water from the vacuum bags wasn't running down my back, I did a little research and found that the bloating was caused by bacteria fermenting the meat, so I told them their product wasn't the problem and that I just keep going, experimenting, until the bloating goes away. The conversation is over, right? no While their product wasn't a problem, they recommended some methods of using the vacuum bag by freezing or blanching the bag and contents before proceeding with sous vide. The product is excellent. Customer support is one of the best.
