The pillow has an adjustable and (removable) back/neck/head but I found it a bit uncomfortable as it moved a bit. I only made this purchase to elevate my head (without using 3 standard sleeping pillows) for the TV. I don't have a headboard on my bed frame and I don't hold my bed to the wall so lying down to watch TV was a nuisance. with 3 pillows (not to mention my legs dangling off the bed at times). Underneath this pillow is a zip fastening and a detachable/adjustable pillow that provides access to its plush padding. I removed the padding entirely from the adjustable pillow and strategically placed it within the main pillow itself. If you decide to do what I did, please maneuver carefully to avoid tearing the cushion fabric. I'm very happy with how it turned out. In addition, the company has developed this pillow to offer the consumer an alternative in terms of comfort and use.
