Amazing Colors, Pen Function

TLDR: After a year of regular testing, I think the Huion Kamvas 13 Pro is worth the asking price. It started with many bugs that have since been fixed. You get a 13-inch graphic pen display character monitor that offers a wide color gamut and average character quality that takes time to calibrate and get used to the pen pressure and cursor deflection. It is very suitable for beginners and developers on a budget. Long version: Huion GT-133 Kamvas Pro 13 arrived safely in South Africa. Thanks very much! Huion Kamvas Pro 13 looks great and high quality. The display colors are amazing. Calibration takes some time. It's best to get a color calibration device if you're concerned. I use an X-Rite ColorMunki display in combination with DisplayCal software for easier color calibration. The cables are a good length. I had no issues with length when routing cables along and around the back of my desktop workstation. What I unfortunately overlooked, the power supply only comes with a US adapter. I had to use the EU adapter with the US power adapter for my country. The pen is lightweight, with most of the weight coming from the front end of the pen. I am very thankful for the silicone grip on the stylus after using stylusless pens. The pen tip scratches when drawing and clicks when pressed. I found the LED power button to be quite bright and wouldn't turn off when the screen was on. A bit of black tape and she closed it up nicely. When you turn on the display, the screen flashes white with a blue Huion logo. So be sure to put on your cool goggles or look away so you don't go blind. Reversed colors would be better for us vampires. I don't see much use for express keys since I have a Razer Tarturus V2, a 60% bluetooth keyboard and a macro number pad for all my express keys. However, it makes sense that the OSD menu is called up and navigated via the monitor's express keys. I think the touchpad on the side is useless because it only has 4-5 steps and you can't program it. I would have liked more express keys at this point if I had the opportunity. I found the stand to be functional although the rim holding the monitor is quite small and due to the shape of the monitor sometimes slides a bit more and perhaps a curved lip would be more ideal to prevent accidental slipping. I ended up clamping hard foam in the gap and lip, which now prevents the pills from sliding down. It would be nice if the GT-133 came with a Huion cover or case. I currently use the Arvok 15.6 laptop sleeve to store and protect my graphics tablets and GT-133 when not in use. Huion Kamvas Pro 13 released in late 2018 caused many problems. Namely, when drawing at medium and slow speeds, even with software stabilization, the lines were shaky. Replacing the stylus didn't solve the problem either. In early 2019, Huion released a firmware update that once installed reduced line wobble by about 70%, but still suffered from end-of-stroke lag on slower draws. it's much worse. Cursor and pen tracking was improved, but it still felt like it was being denied. In another firmware update in April 2019, all medium and slow jitter and line delays were fixed when using software stabilization to eliminate line jitter. Because without stabilization, even on Huion graphics tablets, it looks like I'm drawing my lines through and through and an earthquake. Pen pressure and tracking accuracy are still lacking, and I've found that the cursor can sometimes deviate from the pen stylus, requiring acceptable calibration. At the end of 2019, Huion released a firmware update program that makes updating much easier. However, it did reset all of the GT-133's settings to their defaults, which was a little annoying when the color, pen, and buttons kept recalibrating. The pen is slightly more accurate and with some stabilization, shaky lines no longer go away. There is still some cursor deflection when tilting the pen or moving to the edge of the screen. The needle still misses the original 5% light stroke pressure. Huion is constantly trying to improve. However, this seems to be a glimpse of what Huion can do with this technology, making the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 not outperform the competition but a good contender in its size class. I see this pen display graphics drawing monitor as a good addition for the beginner or creator on a budget. I'll still hold on to my Huion Q11K until Huion's pen displays catch up with its drawing prowess. Thank you for reading my review. Hope that was informative.
