I had this camera and used it for almost a year. I have many Panasonic lenses and one Olympus lens and they all work with the GX8. However, only the new ones will have double stabilization - I don't know if that makes a difference. I also own a few Panasonic and Canon cameras and consider myself a serious amateur photographer, so here it is. I will only highlight some of the most important points as the full reviews are readily available. For the elderly or hikers, despite all its features, it is light and compact. Image quality is excellent when using full pixels and especially when using the RAW function. It easily fits in your hand, but there are many buttons, so you need to be careful and learn all the functions. It takes time to learn all settings and operations. If you don't use it often, it's easy to forget which buttons do what. However, it will do almost anything, including 4K. I mainly use it for photos, but it works well for simple videos too. Checking and focusing is quick, and the viewfinder lets you take pictures from almost any position. However, this isn't a point-and-shoot crowd camera. There are many other cameras that are easier (and cheaper) to use for this purpose, so I give five stars, albeit not perfect, for the serious photographer.
