Some of you may have read my headline and said "Well, yes!" but for everyone else who, like me, has been looking for a lightweight spray toner, this review is it for her . I don't have much experience with toner. My skin type is dry to oily, especially in the T-zone. I was prone to cystic acne as a teenager and grappled with that 90's teenage way (apply cream, press, move on). I'm in my late 30's now and apart from the big cystic acne that comes from sugar and oily skin from time to time I'm fine. Regardless, skincare is a big thing for me right now, and after some advice and watching some YouTube videos from blended makeup gurus, I've decided to step up my skincare routine. Now I've learned from her videos that unless you have dry skin, toner isn't a must-have in skincare. According to her, the toner provides additional moisture for a maximum of 6-10 seconds before the cream is applied. If your skin holds up well enough between washing your face/shower and heading to the vanity, then you really don't need toner. As for me, I noticed that my skin dried out pretty quickly after washing, to the point that after applying my moisturizer, I didn't absorb it either because my skin was dry. In the end, I decided that not only was the toner worth the investment, but that I needed an extra layer of moisturizer underneath my cream. I've used a hyaluron serum before and it worked well, but I wanted something more moisturizing. FYI, I also learned from watching Mixed Makeup that hyaluronic acid is one of those things we shouldn't spend more than $10 on. Basically, there is no such thing as advanced hyaluronic acid. This is purely marketing and if you decide to do this, a basic serum will do. Definitely the TL version; DR can be used as a toner, but I don't feel like it covers my skin with a thin veil. Clear. It's literally a beautiful mist, something to give you a fresh feeling on a warm or hot day. Some reviews claim it can be worn under makeup as they consider it a good replacement for toner, but I disagree. I would recommend using it under makeup only if you have very sensitive skin and suffer from side effects of regular toners. Then this spray is worth a try. That being said, it's essentially nice novelty, Mr. Rosewater, as it advertises itself, and nothing more. I love being spoiled and it's quite indulgent as a lovely gentleman but I don't know if I would buy it again. IMO this is what I would do for someone who does makeup by hand.
