This mic is perfect for podcasting or anything else on a budget. The sound quality is excellent, especially for the price, and it covers the vocal range very well. Clear as a bell. The only downside is that it's a condenser microphone, which has a delicate internal filament. That means you need to be careful when handling it and don't drop it, otherwise it can be easily damaged. The tripod base helps in this regard as it keeps the microphone on a flat surface. I used the supplied XLR cable with a standard built in audio jack on the other end. This facilitates direct connection to a sound card or telephone. A pop filter is also included - very useful for toning down some harsh vocal noises like "r". Overall I would say this is a great beginner condenser mic and the perfect stepping stone to a more expensive high performance condenser mic.
