Three years ago I bought a 17 inch eggplant case. At first I only carried a 17 inch laptop in it and the case stayed slim and thin. Sometimes I carried two laptops with me: a 17-inch Dell and a 14-inch Lenovo. and I had LOTS OF SPACE AND LOTS OF FILLING. Case looked sharp! Then I started having crazy human needs that I had to pack in my bag: sometimes a sweater, a poncho or a light jacket, my phone, a wallet, pepper spray, a bottle of water, cosmetics, a hairbrush, a folding umbrella, a Newspaper, magazine or book galley, AND ALSO lots of yellow legal pads, paper clips, rubble and rubbish. ALL OF THESE THINGS fit in my bag easily, and the funny thing is that even though I kept adding more weight and bulk, including all kinds of laptop accessories, the bag, with its excellent design and cut, never bagged or stretched. Probably because of all the secret compartments that you have to look for on your own. Spill your latte on your body - inside or out - it won't hurt the bag. Just wipe it off with a damp paper towel or even under a faucet. (Okay, I'll admit I put mine in the washing machine, "fine", and took it outside to try it out in about 15 minutes. I doubt Brinch would agree.) The workmanship of the bag is excellent; All corners, edges and seams are finished to perfection, the zips are strong with large zips, the shoulder strap feels strong enough to tow a truck but when not towing a truck is very light on the shoulder. So why did I come back three years later? I came back to buy the same bag for my DAUGHTER but in the latest fashionable gray packaging! Photos will be promised handles and separate zippers. You'll have room for a laptop or two (if that's your thing) as long as both are 17 inches. A laptop easily fits in each compartment. These areas have smaller internal pockets and dividers and to be honest I'm pretty sure I could carry the entire contents of my wallet in one suitcase. [I was right.] I LOVE it and I have just a little advice for those ordering PURPLE; it is not as light purple as shown here. It's a fairly dark aubergine color, still recognizable purple, retrained.
