These little lamp sets work exactly as they should: you turn them on and when you turn on the switch it goes on, off and off. For the price, especially considering you get two of these, this is a good product. My nitpick: I wish the switch was closer to the plug or closer to the outlet. As it is, it's pretty close to the middle of the cable. It's hard to explain why it's a bit impractical, but once you've tried it, you'll understand that it is. It's like the switch is always out of reach. It might work well with other lamps or lighting fixtures, but for me it's not the best. Not a problem for star docking in my opinion, but still worth a look,
