So many great features, but .

Pros: - Great backpack for travel - LOTS of storage space - Lots of padding in all the right places - Padded laptop storage - Everything is easily accessible - Shoulder straps are soft and comfortable - Great price. Cons: Carrying handle: steel cable feels strong. Both ends of the rope are attached to two thin layers of low reinforcement nylon. In all the reviews, there are hardly any that indicate that the carrying handle cable protrudes completely from the backpack on one side or the other. How long this lasts depends on the weight in the backpack. Sewing the straps to the backpack, above: the straps end just below a line of thick stitching (see last photo). If they were lengthened a few more inches, the double stitching over the padding would give the straps much more strength. Several reviews have indicated that one of the shoulder straps has come loose. Here, too, the service life depends on the weight in the backpack. Hey Targus, if you're going to be using steel cable to reinforce the top handle of a backpack that's going to carry more than a few pounds, you might want to consider a stronger steel cable mount. Thin nylon is a bug waiting in the wings. Curious to hear if anyone has tried getting a lifetime warranty replacement and what the experience has been. I really like this backpack. Instead of returning it I think I'll take it to a luggage repair shop and let them do what Targus was supposed to do. Reinforce the carrying handle or replace the steel cable with something that won't tear through the nylon. Pull the straps a few inches more and add a sturdy X-pattern stitch to secure the straps.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some flaws
