When the factory D2S and ballast started to fail ordered these to try as a replacement for the D2S xenon. I also ordered Osram D2S. and Hella Ballast in case I don't like LEDs. The reason I chose them was my previous experience with the Suto Auto H7 which are identical to these except they are for D2S. High beam, but I just wasn't sure about using something like that for low beam factory projectors. I've heard horror stories about why you shouldn't use LEDs instead of factory xenon, especially in factory projectors, but I decided to give the D4C LED a try. I checked the radiation pattern at 20ft before and after and also pre-aimed before replacing the D2S xenons. Installation as intended, completely plug and play. The only drawback was the missing LED seal on the reflector body, no worries thanks to the very thin silicone bead. After installation the radiation pattern was almost identical to the factory xenon, slightly brighter hot spot than I'm used to but shouldn't be a problem. The light cone pattern was flat with a slight slope to the right, as should be the case with left-handed US code lights. This beam pattern is identical to the z-beams found on older Cibie models and not the typical corner cutoff European E2 model. It has been found that no adjustment is required to match the old markings. Driving at night: no flash from other drivers, good even light distribution from left to right shoulder. Reaches far enough not to overload the headlights, anyone who actually drives knows what I'm talking about. not because my car is loud, but it's not. I can't even hear the fans when the engine is off, maybe they should call themselves Fido. No light beetles from LKM, LKM considers it to be factory xenons so it's better than good or as I say "good". I am now converting my other BMW with factory D2S xenon to make the other half happier.
