I like braided cables. They don't tangle, don't tear, and last a very long time. I bought them specifically for work where we connect work phones. The short cable is great for our purposes and has no additional dangling. throughout the vehicle and could potentially pose a safety hazard. Conclusion: I will never go back to plastic-coated cables. This is great value.
