Dark blue or dark purple?

Dark Navy looks dark purple on dark blue fabric. It's not the dark blue I expected. The color I used is Medium Delft Blue (2783). The edge photo is Northcott Toscano Navy. The other photo shows my current lining fabric. Great deep and rich colour. but not what i wanted. Oh well. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of my usual 5 because it looks dark purple to me.
